Memory Wall Quilt Pattern - Details

It's finally release day for our latest pattern, the Memory Wall Quilt and we are so excited! I'm here to give you all the details on this easy, beginner-friendly, and most importantly, fun-to-make quilt!

The fabric used for the cover quilt is Pond Tales by Figo Fabrics. The quilt top was pieced and bound by my sister, Meg. It was quilted by Laurie Moynes (she's our go-to longarmer).

Memory Wall consists of large squares bordered in contrasting fabric set in a solid background. The quilt is assembled in columns with sashing in between. Use a dark fabric for frames and lighter/bright fabrics for the squares to create a picture frame effect.

I designed this quilt for a line of fabric that I loved so much that I didn't want it to be cut up. This pattern allowed the fabrics to shine and be effectively displayed. It's really good for large scale prints.

This quilt is suitable for the confident beginner or above. The pattern assumes that you have prior knowledge of piecing a quilt top.

Instructions for 3 different sizes are included in the pattern: baby (39" x 42½"), throw (62" x 77"), and bed (85" x 100").

This is a pre-cut friendly pattern. The throw and bed quilts use fat quarters and the baby quilt uses either fat eights or fat sixteenths. As the squares are smaller than 10", you could also use a 10" pre-cut bundle and trim down the squares to the correct size.

A few ideas of how to make this quilt your own:

• It could be used as an I Spy quilt. Instead of purchasing yardage for the Main Fabric, collect bold prints until you can make 1 square of each like you would for an I Spy quilt.
• This pattern would also make a wonderful Memory quilt.
• A variation that I'm longing to try myself is to use a solid fabric for the Main Fabric and embroider or appliqué different designs onto each square.
